🌿 Fun Chard Facts

  1. Rainbow chard is naturally colourful! The bright pink, yellow, and orange stems aren’t dyed — they’re different varieties of the same plant.
  2. Chard is related to beetroot. They’re part of the same plant family, which is why the leaves look similar and the stems sometimes taste slightly sweet.
  3. It’s packed with nutrients – rich in vitamins A, C, and K, plus magnesium and iron, making it a powerhouse for bone health and immunity.
  4. Chard leaves can be used like spinach, but the stems can be treated like celery – chop, sauté, or pickle them for no waste!
  5. Ancient roots: Chard has been cultivated for thousands of years around the Mediterranean and was praised by Aristotle in 350 BC.
